President's Message

Welcome back! We hope to see you at the Hilton for our September PDM. Also, please join us in welcoming our newest members:

Linda Arnold, CPIM
Brenda Piper
Lawrence Raymond
Jim Redding

Have you seen “CPIM or APICS Certification is desired, a plus, or preferred” in recruitment ads? Are you missing this designation?

Becoming certified demonstrates your understanding and competence necessary for today’s intense performance levels. Preparing for the five CPIM exams can be done in several ways. The NOSH Chapter offers review classes to help you achieve your goal, or you can self-study. The advantage of the review classes is you have a chance to gain a better understanding of the elements not normally used in your current job. Class duration is between eight and ten weeks. As you complete a class, taking the exam and passing it offers you the ability to say you are certified in that skill set. Passing all five exams earns you the CPIM designation.

So, if you need to become more competitive in the job market or want to improve your skill sets, consider the CPIM as one of your stepping stones. The investment of time and money are worth what you will get out of this endeavor.

Plan for your fall classes! The registration deadline is 9/20/10.
